The purpose of this press release on behalf of FSA Football Club is to formally announce our implementation plan for U.S. Soccer mandates to calendar-year competition and small-sided games. Starting in the 2016-17 season, FSA FC will restructure player pools with new and current players to adopt birth year teams for all age groups. In addition we will implement the small-sided, 7v7, and 9v9 models for our Juniors through Under-12 age groups. As a club we have evaluated the internal makeup of our players and will continue player development to create the strongest teams possible with this full transition to birth year.
FSA FC will continue to seek out the best playing opportunities for both male and female programs. We will continue to compete in the EDP league as a Super Club. Membership as an ECNL Club & NE NPL Club will continue in order to provide unique opportunities for our players to develop and pursue playing at the highest level. Our affiliation with adidas and Generation adidas provides our teams with access to tournaments and other exclusive international events. FSA FC players will have access to ECNL and NPL events in order to maximize elite level playing opportunities.
With a combination of the best indoor and outdoor facilities in the Northeast and a professional coaching staff, our new team structure will continue to attract elite players to FSA FC. From our Juniors program for 5-8 year olds, to our Under-23 teams maintaining fitness between collegiate seasons, our goal is to develop quality players and productive members of society.
